Excellent telecommuting opportunity – #2 in the department working with the Senior VP and Chief Legal Counsel.
Global organization – leading company in food service and support services.
Job Summary:
- Accountable for assisting operating management to achieve cost-effective, cost competitive environments that are consistent with Company policies, procedures, and work rules, and free of unnecessary litigation.
- Responsible for assisting HR in achieving employee relations environments which foster union-free operations.
- Negotiating and administering collective bargaining agreements and providing internal consultation, supervision, work direction and training to Regional Labor Relations Managers, Labor Relations Managers and Labor Relations Supervisors.
- Reports To Senior VP Labor Relations/Chief Counsel
- Assist in budget preparation and monthly monitoring of the same
- Identify strategic labor objectives and communicates them to staff
- Position requires Travel Up to 60% of the time (live close to major airport) with 40% of time working remotely
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required with a Business or Communications focus preferred
- JD or other advanced degree is strongly preferred
- Min of 15+ years of Labor Relations experience at a senior level
- Labor Relations experience as Chief Spokesperson in a multi-location environment where at least 25% of the locations are unionized
- Experience in hospitality or healthcare or food & vending services and/or support services required
- Must be a good manager with proven ability to effectively supervise staff
- Extensive experience in negotiations
- Employee Relations
- Proven ability to manage grievances to arbitration step
- Proven ability to work persuasively across all sectors and levels of management to ensure corporate labor relations objectives are met
- Experienced with Union organizing campaigns and awareness training with operators
- Experience can be either from a management or labor perspective
- Strong communicator
- Bilingual preferred
