New Director of Women’s Services career opportunity! Position will oversee Labor & Delivery and Obstetrics. This will include overseeing our high-quality patient care in Labor & Delivery, High-Risk Antepartum, and the postpartum units. 

The Medical Center has been recognized by the Joint Commission for excellence achieving Perinatal Care Certification in 2017. Our recently expanded campus now has 352 all-private rooms, to meet the needs of our community. The Women and Newborn’s Pavilion is home to the Future Generations Center with three designated floors for Perinatal and Newborn Care. This includes 16 Labor and Delivery rooms, an 11 bed Obstetrical Triage department, 3 designated operating suites, a 3 bed Post Anesthesia Care Unit and 40 private postpartum rooms. In your role, you will:

  • Assure that high quality nursing care is provided consistently throughout Women’s and Newborn Services.
  • Develop and execute nursing objectives in support of organizational goals and division strategies.
  • Serve as a liaison with physician staff to develop strategic plans for providing patient care.
  • Collaborate with other divisions to direct hospital operations. Represent the nursing organization with management, committees, and outside entities.
  • Recommend adjustments in nursing organization, staffing, systems, and procedures. Establish standards for nursing education, performance, and management.
  • Develop and control the annual budget for assigned areas

This position will have 2 Managers, 2 educators (report to Clinical Excellence Department with dotted line to department).

Each depart has 24/7 clinical supervisors who report to the manager.
170 FTE’s roughly. 

Annual deliveries at the Medical Center: 4,673 – Deliveries as a system: 8,721 

16 beds, private rooms

3 OR’s

100% Private doctors

Postpartum numbers: 40 all private bed units

100 team members, patient 1:4

60% high risk population 

Education and Experience Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Business Administration or Healthcare Administration required
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Public Health, or Medical Management to work effectively with administrative management preferred
  • 5 years of hospital nursing experience required
  • 2 years of experience in a management role required

Licenses and Certifications: 

  • RN – Current State of California Registered Nurse license required
