Job opening for a Director of Inpatient Care located in Minnesota.

Reports To:
- Senior VP of Hospital and Clinical Services
Summary:
- Plans, organizes and administers nursing service functions on a 24 hour basis.
- Responsible for direction and coordinating the staff and resources of the Intensive Cardiac Care Unit, Medical Surgical, OB unit, Labor/ Delivery Nursery, Cardiac Rehab and Chemo Infusion Therapy Units.
- Assigns duties and evaluates performance of departmental personnel;
- assures physicians orders are followed;
- identifies patient care problems, investigates and develops solutions, resolving complaints;
- hires, trains new personnel;
- may instruct staff on new technique, procedure and equipment.
Qualifications:
- High degree of interpersonal skills, demonstrating tact, courtesy and positive approach methods.
- Knowledge of medical terminology (i.e., anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology {basic disease processes}.
- Knowledge of interdisciplinary care planning and discharge planning.
- Ability to organize and prioritize with a high degree of efficiency.
- Must be able to make independent decisions when warranted.
- Must possess and have the ability to see and hear or use prosthetics.
- Function independently with little supervision.
- Be flexible; possess personal integrity.
- Graduate of an accredited RN Nursing Program and possess current MN license.
- BAN; BSN preferred.
- Five years’ experience in a leadership/management role.
- Certification in ACLS and BCLS.
- 2-3 years clinical experience in one or more areas (i.e., Med/Surg., ICCU, Obstetrics, Labor/Delivery).
- Certificates in BCLS and ACLS
