Job Opening in a 125 licensed beds, not for profit healthcare system, for an Administrative Director, Patient Care Services located in Rhode Island.
Job Summary:
- This position directs the provision of patient care and the management of human and financial resources for all assigned inpatient and outpatient patient care services units/departments.
- The Admin Director will provide leadership, support and serve as a resource to these areas, while ensuring nursing practice is in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and based on evidence based practice.
- Demonstrates personal accountability for patient-centered care, and alignment with organizational vision and values.
- These responsibilities also includes but is not limited to, oversight of resource effectiveness functions, capital and operational budgets, labor relationships, and representing at the L+M delivery network and at the system level as requested.
- This role is integral in collaborating with all nursing leaders to facilitate nursing\u2019s Care Signature across the system.
- This position is a key clinical leadership partner to the VP of Operations and Associate Chief Medical Officer.
- In addition, this role supports and maintains both internal and external relationships with associates, physicians, and board and community members.

Job Responsibilities:
- Directs clinical and administrative operations, leading operational level initiatives that support the hospital\u2019s strategic plan and Patient Care Services supporting goals and initiatives.
- Provides oversight and direction in establishing and maintaining systems, including a professional governance structure and processes, for developing, reviewing, approving, disseminating, and assuring the quality of standards of clinical practice.

- Integrates Service Excellence initiatives into daily operations, measures responsiveness to internal and external customers. Amends plan based on feedback.
- Assists with the coordination of clinical services and communication between the medical staff and multidisciplinary clinical and non-clinical departments to promote the Hospital\u2019s goals and objectives.
- Ensures the delivery of effective, value based, quality patient care.
- Takes an active role in the development and mentoring of nurse leaders and staff.
- Participates in select administrative committee and decision-making bodies including, but not limited to, the Medical Executive Committee and Quality Council.
- Actively leads others in achieving standards that reflect Magnet principles in alignment with the vision statement of nursing.
- Assures effective communication and coordination of initiatives throughout the organization, the patient care services infrastructure, the medical staff, and organizational workgroups and committees.
- Establish department and unit direction consistent with the hospital and health system objectives.
- Monitors patient outcomes and intervenes as necessary to meet or exceed goals.
- Leads and communicates changes that improve quality of care and the patient experience.
- Provide coaching, counseling, and other forms of support to staff that enable them to attain their quality management goals.
- Provides administrative direction to management staff including supporting plan development, priority-setting, decision-making, and professional development.
- Manages financial resources in a manner consistent with expectations for volume, productivity, and organizational goals.
- Regularly analyzes variances and can speak to and address variances.
- Proposes, supports, and executes a capital budget.
- Develop (and update) clinical plans addressing: performance improvement, marketing/market share analysis to support VP of Operations and decision making, capital equipment planning, technology assessment and human resource needs.
- Meets performance expectations as outlined in performance review.

- Ensures accountability for high performance in patient satisfaction, staff development and regulatory/accreditation readiness.
- Works collaboratively with the senior leadership, medical staff leaders, particularly department chairs, – Remains current with local trends and changes in health policy, standards, and regulations associated with professional practice, the practice environment, and health systems.
- Represents the VP of Operations or CNO on clinical, operational, or professional issues, as requested.
- Actively participate in appropriate organizational and system committees as the nurse leader.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit/service/organization
Job Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with a BSN.
- Master\u2019s or matriculation in a program in Nursing or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years progressively more responsible experience in Leadership/Management.
- Results oriented, accomplished executive with strong operational, financial, analytical and development skills.
- Magnet and shared governance experience preferred.
- Current RI License
- Demonstrates effective leadership skills.
