Job Opening in a 150+ bed hospital located in Southwest Ohio, about 45 mins from Dayton, has a need for experienced Certified Surgical First Assists (CRFA) to join their team.
In addition to our inpatient and outpatient operating areas, our surgery center has pre-anesthesia testing (PAT), a post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), sterile processing and 10 private rooms for recovery for our same-day surgery patients. Our operating rooms are used for a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient procedures, including general, orthopedic, urologic, infertility, vascular, obstetric, gynecologic, C-sections, ophthalmologic, podiatric and pediatric surgeries. This means we can manage simple procedures such as tonsillectomies and arthroscopies as well as more involved procedures such as laparascopic cholecystectomies and cataract surgeries.
This is a day shift position with on call once a week after their shift and one weekend a month. Call back time is 20 mins. You do have the option of staying at the hospital during your on call rotation.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Surgery Manager and / or Charge Nurse, performs a variety of duties, preparing for, assisting during, and cleaning up after surgical
procedures. Also functions within the job description of a scrub nurse and circulating nurse. Provides patient care in accordance with hospital and nursing
policies, procedures and standards of care.
Job Requirements
Education:
- Successfully completed a surgical assistant course from an approved school; eligible for, or has passed the National Surgical Assistant Association’s official certification examination; CME units every 24 months through NSAA approved educational programs.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of operative experience since certification preferred.
