Job Opening in a midsized hospital located in Southern Virginia near the NC border, has a need for a Director of Surgical Services to join their team.
Directs the department’s activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives established in conjunction with upper management, such as, quality improvement, fiscal productivity, and patient satisfaction. The Director Surgical Services provides overall direction and leadership for the provision of safe, effective and cost efficient patient care within the Surgical Services Departments (Pre-Procedure Screening, One Day Surgery, OR, Central Processing and PACU).
We have 12 OR’s but only run 5 rooms a day. We average 420 cases a month.
Currently we do the following surgeries:
Orthopedics
General
ENT
GYN
Urology
Ophthalmology
Ortho Spine
Starting in December or January we will be doing Thoracic and Vascular.
There are approximately 52 FTEs.
Minimum Education:
Graduate of a Program in Professional Nursing Required
Bachelor’s degree X Required
Master’s degree X Preferred
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS)
American Heart Association Required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
American Heart Association Required
Licenses:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or compact state Required
Minimum Work Experience:
Five (5) years’ experience in surgical specialty setting Required
Three (3) years’ experience as a full-time perioperative supervisory/management role Required
