Risk & Quality openings Oregon Market

We are working with a small hospital in the Oregon Coastal market looking for a Risk & Patient Safety Manager and a Quality & Performance Coordinator.
Hospital is a full-service, 25-bed, critical access, not-for-profit, Level IV trauma center in northwest Oregon. Hospital is partnered with a large healthcare organization.

Risk and Patient Safety Manager is responsible to the Director of Quality for investigating adverse patient outcomes, analyzing events, formulating safety plans, participating in policy review, Sentinel Event investigations and facilitating root cause analysis and focused reviews, presenting educational programs, claims investigations, and assisting with responses to regulatory agencies. Additionally the Risk and Patient Safety Manager will assist the Director of Quality with departmental programs, projects, initiatives, or activities as directed.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in healthcare patient safety programs. Previous experience with quality or performance improvement initiatives. RN or clinical degree is required. Other clinical backgrounds will receive strong consideration. Experience utilizing quality improvement tools and methods preferred. Certification or ability to achieve certification in risk management is required within two years.

Quality & Performance Coordinator – new role
Quality & Performance Improvement Coordinator has responsibility for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) consultation, data management and quality advisor functions in support of improvements in clinical practice, service quality, and regulatory compliance. The Quality Improvement Coordinator assists Hospital by providing guidance in supporting a quality culture, coordinating quality activities, establishing measurements to monitor performance, ensuring high data integrity, role-modeling CQI principles, and teaching others to promote the principles of performance improvement.

RN License or Certified Professional in Health Care Quality (CPHQ) preferred. Certification or ability to achieve certification in quality management is required within two years.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Formal training in CQI principles, tools, and techniques preferred. A minimum of three years applicable quality experience such as a quality committee member, involvement in problem-solving teams, management of data, and use of CQI tools and techniques required, including at least one year of experience in the healthcare field.
Location: Northwest Oregon

Both positions report to Director of Quality.
