What are the top priorities for the new director to address?

• We would like the Director to create a partnership with nursing to drive patient safety in creative ways.

How is the organization currently doing in terms of outcomes, patient satisfaction, HCAHPS?

• We are doing well. Our Inpatient HCAHPS is currently at 77.1. We would like a Director that is familiar with all the areas represented under this dept umbrella to assess current work distribution and to recommend new ideas and creative solution to have nursing and Quality working better together to improve patient care. The right candidate will be familiar with Leapfrog and Vizient.

How long has the role been open?

• The position has been open for about 45 days. We have a current Director of HIM that has also been serving as the Director over this area. As we grow, we are adding this new role.

Number of beds: We are licensed for 178 beds.
We are on a journey to achieve MAGNET designation.
Number of FTEs in Dept: 8
Number of Managers reporting to Director: 0
Does the Director have to have an RN degree: YES
What title does the position report to: CEO/CNO

Issues that need to be addressed in the first year:

• We would like the Director to create a partnership with nursing to drive patient safety in creative ways.
• Upon hire the Director will need to evaluate staff and functions to ensure dept is set up for maximum performance.
• The right candidate will be familiar with data analytics and will be very computer literate.
• This position will oversee 8 FTEs, including, accreditation, infection control, risk, and concurrent quality review.
• Looking for an experienced Director who can evaluate current structure, staff and continue to build the quality of our care.

EDUCATION

• Master’s or higher degree in a related field required
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing strongly preferred
