Job Summary
The Genetic Counselor performs genetic risk assessments; offers genetic counselling to individuals and families regarding inherited cancer risk and risk management; recruits patients for high risk assessment programs; facilitates appropriate research enrollment; provides community outreach; and participates in collaborative research projects, program meetings, and program development.
Education Requirements
- 4 year / Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
- Master’s Degree: Genetic Counseling (Required)
Certification and Licensure Requirements
- Certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics (or eligible for certification) (Required)
- Licensed to practice in the state of Pennsylvania (or license must be attained within 90 days of hire date)
