Job Opening for a Pediatric Nurse Manager – Ambulatory Care – Practice Management position located in California.

Job Summary:

  • Nurse Manager is responsible for clinical, fiscal, human resource and quality outcomes for the Ambulatory Pediatric Center Practice.
  • This includes actively managing all administrative and clinical operations and serving as a role model for professional nursing practice.
  • Working closely with the Medical Director and Administrative Director of Pediatric Brain Center, the Manager will develop standards of care to ensure high quality, cost effective delivery of care and spearhead innovative projects for program improvements.
  • The Manager works with staff on a clearly defined and communicated vision and engages individuals and groups to achieve that vision. The Manager identifies and develops organizational talent and embraces continuous learning of self and others.
  • The Manager collaborates with Medical Director and Director to advance quality strategies, ensure a positive professional work environment, facilitate timeliness of services, and enhance patient and staff satisfaction.
  • The Manager oversees all aspects of the provision of administrative and clinical services including the maintenance of safety and technical/clinical performance, quality, standards of care, practice guidelines, service delivery and patient and customer satisfaction.
  • This position is responsible for financial accountability and working collaboratively with the Director and Finance Manager to monitor the operating budget.

Job Required Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of healthcare management experience
  • Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
  • Active American Heart Association CPR certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Demonstrated skills to effectively supervise clinicians and to manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with a clinic(s) / center(s); strong knowledge of practice operations
  • In depth knowledge of patient care clinical standards and care delivery, systems, external regulations and internal policies
  • Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaborations and problem solving with all levels of management and staff, consultants and outside agencies
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to train and mentor subordinates, to convey complex clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong knowledge of business software and specialized applications and data management systems used in clinic / center patient care
  • Strong clinic / center patient care management skills; practice management knowledge in scheduling, customer-service methods, regulatory compliance, accreditation requirements, and / or information technology; broad knowledge of patient population served and the requirements for the delivery of services
  • Strong leadership, fiscal and operations management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management and staff from all disciplines; ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented climate of teamwork, collaboration and consistent achievement of objectives
  • Knowledge of relevant healthcare information technology and patient care workflows and processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environments
  • Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and delegate work functions efficiently
  • Knowledge of current and emerging best practices and technologies in the clinic / center healthcare industry

Job Preferred Qualifications:

  • CNRN,NE-BC, CCTM
  • Master’s degree (MS, MPH, MPA, MSN, MBA, etc.)
  • Experience with ambulatory care clinical practices
  • Experience in RN Management
  • Experience using EMR-EPIC/APeX
  • Lean or project management experience
  • Neurology or Neurosurgery experience
  • Pediatrics experience

Licensure/Certification:

  • Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
  • Active American Heart Association CPR certification
