Rehab Director opening in SC

Midsized health system in SC, has a need for a Director of Rehab Services to join their team.



Looking for someone who is either a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Therapist for this position.



Prefer experience overseeing multiple locations if possible.



Most of the rehab is done at their 50+ bed hospital which has been know for their Orthopedic Services.



Must have strong leadership experience, enjoy a challenge and can be a “fixer upper”.



The Director will need to be willing to get involved and be hands on, including potentially seeing some patients.



Most of the patients are Inpatient.


Position Summary:



Supervises and directs personnel engaged in medical care and rehabilitation of patients referred to physical, occupational and speech therapy.




Differentiates job responsibilities and assigns duties and responsibilities as appropriate to personnel.



Coordinates recruiting and hiring of individuals including interviewing potential staff.



Performs on-the-job training of personnel using good personnel administration techniques.



Prepares personnel evaluation records on Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy personnel and discusses evaluation with employee concerned.



Verifies time records for payroll purposes.



Oversees that equipment is maintained in excellent working condition.



Prepares staff meeting monthly to bring the staff together and give information regarding any hospital changes, departmental concerns and any staff issues.



Organizes instruction and demonstration of techniques on new equipment at in-service program.



Prepares all periodic reports, including productivity, periodic activity and accountability reports to forward to administration.



Monitors Quality Improvement on a continuous basis and prepares monthly and quarterly quality improvement reports.



Develops goals and objectives annually.



Evaluates services, suggests restructuring as needed, assesses potential new services.


Prepares annual report and yearly departmental budget.



Maintains employee morale by meeting annually to discuss their goals and objectives, problems, etc.



Meets routinely (as needed) with hospital administration regarding departmental programs, problems, etc.

*Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Therapy.


*Licensure/Certification: BLS & SC License for PT, OT or SLP required.


*Professional Experience:



Three to five years’ experience as a staff Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Therapist with at least one year supervisory experience.
