PFS Director Opportunity in KY

A midsize hospital in KY, has a need for a Patient Financial Services Director to join their team.



Candidates MUST have hospital experience in both the front end (registration) and back end (business office, billing, collections, etc).


The Director Patient Revenue is responsible for the daily oversight, management and director of all phases of the hospital’s accounts patient access team, receivables and customer service.


Job Responsibilities:


Identifies and implements strategies to build a high performing team including a building a supervisory leadership pipeline, creating a regulatory/compliance culture.


Proactively identifies issues/escalations, performance gaps and trade-offs to ensure delivery of the organizations business objectives.


Assess efficiency of patient revenue call center practices to identify and implement process improvements to increase dollars collected per man-hour while reducing the company’s exposure to additional bad debt reserves.


Provide strategic and tactical initiatives to support increased revenue collections.


Assisting in improving operational processes related to Scheduling, Insurance Verification, Revenue Capture, Billing, Collections, Cash Posting, Credit Balances


Create an environment of continual improvement and adaptive innovation which is responsive to the organizational needs.


Act as a partner in the overall management of the office and participate actively in decision-making and strategy for the entire department, with a team orientated approach.


Oversee management of patient revenue personnel, providing recommendations for hiring, promotion, salary adjustment and personnel action where appropriate.


Assesses and responds to current and future internal and external healthcare trends in order to establish and ensure the necessary direction for revenue cycle activities.



Continually seeks ways and means for improving the delivery and support of patient billing and collections activities and programs.


Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and Mission and Values statement.






The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited academic institution


Master’s degree in business or finance is preferred.


Required Work Experience:

Seven plus years’ experience managing Revenue Cycle Management and/or Collections in a large healthcare provider setting, with deep experience in cost management, revenue cycle processes and service optimization strategies.
