After one year of employment, the hospital will offer a 3% match to the funds in the 403(b) pre-tax and/or 403(b) Roth post-tax options.
Hospital has two year vesting of employer match.
Employees are offered 184 hours of PTO thru one’s second year of employment and 64 hours of Short Term Disability (which can be accessed by an employee after they use two days of PTO).
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Lab Director is responsible for the overall operation and administration of the Lab, including the employment of personnel who are competent to perform test procedures of high complexity.
In addition, the incumbent must be able to perform the duties of any Lab employee.
Ensure staffing is adequate for areas of responsibility, in order to provide high quality care that is also cost effective.
The Lab Director is responsible for planning and organization and administration of Lab services (which includes staffing, training and development, communications, and documentation).
Ensure that prior to bench work personnel are qualified, trained and have demonstrated they can perform the work.
In addition, monitor Lab employees to ensure competency in all phases of the work and identify the need for remedial training or continuing education.
Adhere to the organization’s expectations related to human resources for employees in areas of responsibility.
Create, develop and implement the Strategic Plan for areas of responsibility (consistent with the organization’s Strategic Plan).
Develop and execute budget for area of responsibility.
Advise medical staff, department Directors and COO in matters related to Lab services.
Ensure policies and procedures are reviewed regularly and implemented effectively throughout areas of responsibility.
Take the lead during Department of Health surveys and ensure regulatory compliance for the Lab.
Responsible for the development, revision and implementation of the quality improvement program for areas of responsibility.
Achieve favorable patient, staff and physician satisfaction scores in areas of responsibility.
Take remedial action and document when test systems fail.
Ensure that tests are providing quality results.
Verify that procedures are adequate and that personnel are providing accurate and reliable results.
Ensure that the Lab is enrolled in a DOH approved Proficiency Service and these tests are run as patient samples, results are turned in on time, returned evaluations are reviewed by the testing staff, and that any corrective action required is approved by the DOH.
Ensure that staff members adhere to the Hospital values and behavioral standards, and create a positive culture that enables staff to provide a consistently exceptional patient experience.
There are a total of three full-time FTEs (two of which work every day during the week and only one works the weekend shifts).
In addition, they have one pool Lab Tech and are currently looking for additional pool Lab Techs.
The Lab supports the Acute Care unit, the Emergency Department and the Family Practice Clinic.
Must have at least four (4) years of Medical Technologist experience in similar or larger organization(s), plus two (2) years in a lead capacity.
Must possess exceptional verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills that align with hospital’s Shared Values.
Must possess specific knowledge of Lab operations per Washington State Department of Health requirements, WACs, etc.
Must have demonstrated ability to achieve fiscal, productivity, quality, legal, regulatory, and other dashboard benchmarks.
Must have demonstrated favorable results in patient, staff and physician satisfaction.
Must be proficient in the use of computer systems required to operationally manage and report on the operations of the Lab.
Bachelor’s degree in a health related field, Medical Technology preferred.
