ER Director opening in NM

A 300 bed hospital in NM, has a need for an experienced ER Director to join their team.

The Emergency Services Director ensures the Emergency Services Department meets all legal and accreditation/certification requirements.

 

In addition, the Director ensures the Department complies with all applicable mission statements, policies, procedures, codes and standards of the hospital.

 

Services are provided across the lifespan of an individual and within the spectrum of health care as designated for the department.

 

Provides service to the patients throughout the lifespan including newborns, children, adults and geriatric age groups.

The ER is a 24 bed unit; 20 regular beds and four fast track beds.

 

Current model is a Director, with support from a full time RN Clinical Manager.

 

The patient population seen in the Emergency Department is vast and ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics, and consistently exhibits a high acuity.

 

Staffed with an RN and advanced practice provider from 10 am – 10 pm, and they are currently looking to extend.

 

The department is averaging 107 patient visits per day with an admission rate of 18%.

 

Current coverage is achieved through a mix of MD’s and advanced practice providers.

 

The department is also staffed with registered nurses, PCT’s, CNA’s and EMT-I/Paramedics for support.

 

The hospital is a Certified Chest Pain Center with 24/7 PCI capability and Cath Lab services located directly off the Emergency Department.

 

Minimum Education:

 

Graduate of a School of Nursing program.

Bachelor’s degree in business, nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field.

Must obtain a Bachelor’s degree from two years of hire date.

MSN preferred.

 
Minimum Experience:

 

A minimum of five (5) years current clinical experience in specialty area or management.

Three to five years’ experience in a supervisory role required.

 
Certification/Licensure:

 

Current New Mexico or compact RN license required.

CPR certification required.
