Behavioral Health Director, Southern CA

We are working on a Behavioral Health Director opportunity. This is an opportunity to work for a highly respected Magnet Southern CA Hospital, 200+beds, affiliated with a University system.

Hospital is opening a new unit April 2018. Hospital wants to hire a Director ASAP to work on start-up.

Great opportunity for someone who likes business development and starting a unit from ground up.

We had an accepted offer and start date early April, the candidate just backed out due to health reasons. This is extremely urgent since the hospital has been waiting for 2 months for her to start.

Position overview:

The Director plans, develops, implements and evaluates administrative management and strategy for the mental health program at organization throughout the continuum of care by establishing and maintaining current standards, systems and process that are effective to ensure excellence of assigned areas within a family centered care model which supports the mission, goal and objectives of Hospital.
This position is responsible for the development and oversight of the divisional operations including annual operating and capital budgets, productivity monitoring system, active participation in analysis of financial, operational, and clinical information systems and program development in support of the organization’s strategic goals. This position reports to the Vice President Patient Care Services/CNO.

Qualifications Required:

4 Years experience in a clinical specialty.
Graduation from an accredited school of Registered Nursing; BSN, Masters required. Certifications or credentials as deemed necessary by regulatory agencies; BLS certifications within 30 days of employment. Must have CA RN license by opening of hospital in 2018.
Ability to set goals and judge results in accordance with the highest standards; care with sensitivity and respect; advance care through development of new ideas and technology; promote teamwork; understands and exceeds customer expectations.
Knowledge of Family-Centered Care Concepts ad Quality Improvement methodologies. Demonstrated skill in collaborating with medical staff, allied health professionals, peers and staff. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities concurrently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to successfully provide/promote safe care within the parameters of licensure and regulatory requirements, practice requirements ad hospital systems.

Preferred:
4 Years nursing management experience in a clinical area of an acute facility. Experience with behavioral health population. Experience with budget and productivity systems. Working knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel). Eligible for the ANCC Administrative certification.

Salary range: 150k-190k
