A small rural hospital located in Central WY, about 3 hours from Jackson, WY, has a need for an Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) to join their team.

Under general direction, the ACNO will direct nursing care activities within defined hospital policies, procedures, and strategic objectives in concert with the mission and values of the hospital. Reports directly to hospital System Chief Nursing Officer.  The ACNO will develop a higher level of nursing leadership and business management, in addition to other skills necessary to advance to a Chief Nursing Officer role in the organization while under the leadership of the System Chief Nursing Officer. Development is based on an 80-10-10 model with 80% of growth based on targeted work assignments; 10%  based on mentoring/coaching; and 10% is based on formal learning activities.

This is a fairly new position.  As of right now, the Surgical Dept and Behavioral Health Dept report to the ACNO.  They foresee this changing soon.  They are looking for someone who is experienced with process improvement, developing new service lines or perhaps eliminating service lines that are doing well;  someone who can run the hospital when the System CNO is not available.  They need someone with strong experience working with Physicians, someone who is energetic and who can motivate the staff.
