The Director, Finance Service Delivery Center (SDC) is responsible for the oversight of General Accounting, Non-Patient Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Fixed Asset & Capital Projects Management. Responsible for the continuous advancement and improvement of assigned area(s) of responsibility. Keeps current of developments in related fields and applicable clinical areas and develops strategic plans, programs, and associated business plans. Develops departmental objectives that are responsive to external market factors and trends, and that contribute to the attainment of overall organization strategic plans and organizational goals. Provide direct support to the Director, System Corporate Finance and related special projects. Monitors the effectiveness of the internal controls for the Finance SDC function. Provides leadership, direction and support, and oversight to several direct reports while addressing relevant issues specific to each individuals’ area of responsibility. Monitors Finance SDC productivity and performance metrics. Reviews and analyzes transactional activity reports to identify and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner. Ensures all financial activities and transactions are recorded timely, accurately, and in accordance with GAAP. Ensures employee payroll, vendor payments, and non-patient reimbursements are in compliance with all Federal, State, and local tax laws and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures. Supervises the monthly and year-end closing process and review account reconciliations.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. MBA or Master’s degree in healthcare or related field preferred. Hawaii license as a Certified Public Accountant (active/inactive status) preferred.
Eight (8) years in public accounting or private industry.
2. Five (5) years management/leadership experience in healthcare.
3. Significant accounting management experience.
Extensive knowledge of GAAP.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations, tax laws, and the regulatory environment.
Ability to identify and resolve accounting and internal control issues.
Ability to organize, develop, manage, and motivate a responsive Finance SDC team.
Strong familiarity with the system functionality and capabilities.
Strong interpersonal skills for communicating and working with all levels of the organization.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, administrative, and time management skills to oversee multiple functional areas.
Solid understanding of business principles, i.e., strategic and financial planning, budgeting, business planning, organization theory.
