We are working with a 200+bed acute care hospital in the Southern California market looking for:
Manager of Core Lab and a Blood Bank Manager . This is a highly respected Magnet recognized organization! Affiliated with an academic medical school. Hospital will look at Interim CA licensed qualified candidates immediately! Following is more information per position.
Manager – Core Lab Clinical Lab
Under there direction of the Director of Laboratory Services, oversees the operation of the core laboratory, including chemistry, hematology, phlebotomy, and specimen processing. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and maintains on-going quality assurance and performance and process improvement. Effectively communicates and interacts with lab personnel, physicians, and other medical staff.
Minimum Required
3 or more years of recent leadership experience in an acute care setting. 3 or more years of experience in hematology and/or chemistry.
Bachelors’ Degree
Completion of training from a NAACLS accredited CLS Program
Ability to lead, build teams, teach and mentor others. Demonstrated skills in human resource management. Excellent oral and written communication with the ability to effectively interact with lab personnel, physicians and other medical staff. Demonstrated analystical ability with the skill to incorporate lean principles to improve workflow, minimize waste, and maximize productivity.
Required: Clinical Lab Scientist-CA(CLS)
Blood Bank Manager
Reporting to the Director of Laboratory Services supervises daily operation and provides technical expertise in Blood Bank, transfusion services, and donor unit processing. Ensures compliance with all regulatory standards and maintains on-going quality assurance and performance improvement. Supervises personnel and use of supplies and equipment to meet established productivity benchmarks and maximize cost containment.
Experience:
3 or more years recent experience in a blood bank.2 or more years of leadership responsibility.3 years prior experience as a Blood Bank Supervisor is preferred.Bachelors’ Degree required.Licensure: Clinical Lab Scientist-CA(CLS) required.Spec Blood Bank Tech SBB(ASCP) preferred.
Skills:
Ability to supervise, build teams, teach and mentor others. Effective oral and written communication skills. Good problem solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve a wide variety of blood bank and transfusion issues. Knowledge of all regulatory/accreditation standards that apply to the blood bank.
