Manager of Medical / Surgical Services job opening located in Oregon.
Overview:
- 100+bed acute care hospital. Great leadership team in place!
- MedSurg unit has 30 beds, nurses work 12 hour shifts, there are CNA’s, a unit secretary and they have hospital support staff ( EVS, dietary, linen etc). There is a house coordinator around the clock.
- The current leader is retiring.
Day Shift
Job Summary:
Accepts responsibility, accountability and authority as a unitmanager on a 24 hour basis. Utilizes knowledge, methods and techniquespertinent to directing, guiding and assisting nursing management and staffmembers in fulfilling their responsibilities. Planning, development,administration and evaluation. Maintain knowledge base of current nursingpractices. Scheduling. Hiring, counseling and termination. Staff developmentand team building. Conflict resolution and peer communication. Publicrelations. Budgeting. Monetary compliance with regulations contracts. Workindependently and good time management. Sound judgment. Communications skills;verbal, written and electronic. Writing and updating policies and procedures.Manage resources in unit. Coordinate Maintenance of equipment and supplies.
Educational/Licensing:
Current Oregon RN License. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Current BLS.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated leadership qualities; good communication skills, ability to inspire confidence in others, ability to plan, implement and evaluate change, commitment to promoting growth of others. Ability to perform essential job functions and job specific competencies,critical thinking skills, strong leadership abilities and excellentcommunication skills.
Qualifications:
Education Preferred – Bachelors or better in Nursing
Licenses & Certifications Required – OR-RN License
