A 300+ bed hospital located in GA, has a need for an experienced SICU/CCU Manager to join their team.
The SICU Manager was created via restructuring and the current Manager still here.
This position will oversee 25.5 FTE’s in each unit.
There are 24 beds total, 12 in each unit.
Directs and supervises the work of nursing service team members on designated patient care unit/units.
Is responsible for assignments, scheduling, orientation, supervision, guidance and evaluation of nursing personnel on the unit/units so as to ensure and maintain a high quality of patient care.
Will perform direct patient care as needed.
Responsible for infection control and performance improvement for the unit/units and maintains records and submits reports as determined by policy.
Contributes to team building by maintaining a positive, motivational attitude and a holistic approach toward nursing management.
Works with physicians and physician extenders in a collegial manner for the resolution of patient care problems.
Demonstrates a positive professional attitude toward health care, challenges for the future, while maintaining professional integrity.
Works and communicated with all individuals at the appropriate age, level of education, maturity and understanding.
Exhibits positive interpersonal skills and guest relations.
Accountable for the provision of patient care on assigned unit/units 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
Maintains the budget for the unit/units within guidelines by demonstrating financial responsibility for staffing, patient charges, and equipment purchase/leasing.
Recommends and implements any studies needed in the department for improved patient care.
Confers with supervisory personnel in other department as the need arises, encouraging and maintaining good intra and inter departmental relationships and communications.
Highly motivated individual with the ability to coach, mentor, teach, and support staff as well as run the complete operations of the SICU and CCU.
Experience with scheduling, payroll, coordinating educational opportunities, and working with the community.
Must be a team player with the ability to multitask.
Must be able to direct clinical aspects (patient care) of the SICU / CCU as well as administrative (lead, mentor and encourage team members).
Management Experience preferred.
Current Georgia RN License
Graduate of accredited Nursing Program.
BSN required or obtained within 24 months upon hire.
Minimum of four (4) years experience in ICU – Medical, Surgical and Cardiac in a comparable sized hospital
Minimum of four (4) years progressive acute healthcare organization supervisory experience, or demonstrated leadership competencies following the completion of a management and leadership development program.
BLS, ACLS and PALS required.
