Manager Breast Imaging Center job, CT

A 300+ bed hospital located on the Eastern seaboard of CT has a need for a Breast Imaging Center Manager.  This position oversees 35 FTEs.
This new Manager role is a great opportunity for you to join our growing Radiology Department.  This position reports to our Administrative Manager of Outpatient Radiology and the Women’s Breast Center. In this position you are directly responsible for overseeing daily operations of the Women’s Imaging Departments at our different locations ensuring the highest quality and compliance with state, federal, and JC regulations, departmental and hospital policies and procedures, objectives, and philosophy. This position may assume the responsibilities of their Manager in their absence.
 
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.       Direct, coordinate, and oversee the daily activities and operations of the Breast Centers within the Radiology Department, to ensure efficient operations, quality and timely results reporting, and superior, consistent customer service.
2.       Aid in the development of capital requests, and provide feedback to Manager regarding any staffing and equipment needs.
3.       Responsible for weekly final approval of employee timecards in electronic time keeping system.
4.       Responsible for entering requisitions for equipment and supply payment to vendors for Managers final approval.
5.       Manage expenses associated with staff, supply inventory, and equipment maintenance focusing on maximizing efficiencies and cost saving.
6.       Establish and maintain strong/positive relationships with all Outpatient Radiology staff in order to promote services, address issues, and retain customers.
7.       Maintain authority for disciplinary and corrective action plans.
8.       Maintain ownership of preparing paperwork/justification for HRRC requisitions.
9.       Participate/facilitate in the interview process of prospective candidates for positions within areas of oversight.
10.   Demonstrate understanding of staff needs and provide guidance and support to staff in order to achieve highest level of productivity and performance.
11.   Responsible for oversight and performance of quality control for all accreditation programs.
12.   Maintain ownership of mid-year and annual reviews with guidance from the Manager.
13.   Provide mentoring, and promote idea sharing with direct reports.
14.   Assist the Quality Manager in reviewing and updating policies and procedures for modalities and areas of oversight.
15.   Conduct monthly department staff meetings in the absence of their Manager.
16.   Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies such as JC, ACR, and other regulatory agencies as required.
17.   Manage customer service and service recovery efforts as necessary under the guidance of the Manager; train and oversee staff to handle situations directly and appropriately.
18.   Continually seek opportunities to further refine leadership skills and expertise in all areas related to healthcare administration through attendance/participation at education sessions, industry meetings, and other continuing education opportunities.
19.   Maintain active membership in related industry, professional associations (e.g., American Healthcare Radiology Administrators – AHRA, American College of Healthcare Executives – ACHE, Connecticut Hospital Association – CHA, or any other suitable accreditations as it pertains to this position).
20.   Participate in committees related to Women’s Imaging to ensure service standards are met.
21.   Attend mandatory meetings and in services as required for this position.
22.   Prepare, maintain, and submit statistical reports as requested by Manager, and maintain files and records.
23.   Maintains ownership for Apparent Cause Analyses for issues occurring within areas of oversight.
24.   Serve as a member on the NAPBC Committee.
25.   Work in collaboration with Radiology Leadership to support growth strategies and initiatives.
Required Skills
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
·        ARRT License is required
·        Mammography License Required
o   High level of competency with computers, the Internet, and computer software such as MS Office or equivalent is required.
·        Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, interpersonal and public speaking skills are required.
·        The ability to work with individuals at all organizational levels, particularly peers, team members, other departments, patients, and the community is required.
·        Experience with Performance Improvement programs
·        Competency with statistics and statistical analysis is preferred.
·        Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in the field of radiology is required.
·        Prior management/leadership experience is required.
This city in New England is made up of approximately 45 distinct neighborhoods, including two historic districts. It is considered the safest city in New England and the 11th safest city in the United States. Commuter trains come into the city from all points between New London, CT to the east of New York (Grand Central Terminal) to the south. The Town Center boasts 130 shops and restaurants and there are 118 unique street level stores in each of the neighborhoods. There are more than 85 restaurants, four major hotels and 18 movie screens. It has three parks, some with beaches, marina, tennis courts, softball fields, horse show pits, playgrounds, skating rink, picnic areas, fishing, and more. Science and nature lovers can enjoy the Museum & Nature Center. A nearby town is home to over 144,000 residents, 1,300 acres of public land for parks, 13 officially delineated neighborhoods across 16 square miles of land. Landscapes, highways, and communities define the neighborhoods. The town offers a wealth of attractions: majestic shoreline parks, fascinating museums, regional baseball, hockey, and festivals and national musical acts and performances.
