Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Formal education in ICD-10 coding required. Formal education in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology or equivalent experience.
Minimum Experience: Medical office or Health Information Management Department experience in coding. Working knowledge of ICD-CM and CPT coding standards and practices.
Certification/Licensure: AHIMA certification strongly preferred. AAPC certification recognized.
Must become certified within one year of hire date if not certified at time of hire.
Shift Differentials are also paid according to the shift the Coder works.
Certified Coder must work at least four consecutive hours to be eligible for the shift differential.
