Regional Director – Human Resources job, MD

The Regional Manager, Human Resources reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources with responsibility and daily interaction with the Regional Vice President and divisional leadership.

This position is a key player and partner to the Regional Vice President in determining human capital formation, strategy and implementation for the division.  Must work well with others, be neutral and unbiased and possess the ability to create consensus. Must keep all matters confidential.

This individual will also work collaboratively with managers on talent acquisition, talent management and retention, benefits coordination, performance management, succession planning, company compliance (HIPAA) programs, and employee relations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Day to day HR support for the Eastern Division employees and management including any offsite employees
  • Onboarding, HIPAA training and benefit review of new employees, monitoring and follow up of benefit enrollments, setup and maintenance of employee files, payroll liaison between corporate payroll representative and local management, performance reviews and development, ensuring 401k eligibility is communicated and enrollments are processed in an accurate and timely manner, handling workers comp claims and assisting with coordination of annual work comp audits
  • Coordinating with the divisional leaders to obtain approval for additional headcount and the development and tracking of the local recruitment plan, background checks, unemployment claim management, tracking of employee leaves, coordinating with division leaders their processing timely recommendations for merit increases and bonuses and assistance with annual budget. Must stay current with all laws, regulations and labor agreements to understand how they apply in daily business situations.  Knowledge and experience with employment law is mandatory
  • Weekly and monthly reporting requirements
  • Setting up and facilitating relationships with local schools to include participation in career fairs and externships
  • Coordinating all employee relations issues and EEO claims with VPHR
  • Developing and implementing education modules on personnel and legal issues that impact the company in conjunction with the training department
  • Some travel may be required

Requirements include:

  • Prior experience in employee relations, EEOC, benefits administration
  • General business acumen and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the Human Resources field
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Knowledge of MS Office programs
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to varied work requirements
  • Self-motivated with strong communication (written and oral) skills
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and seek alternative solutions to everyday situations
  • Must be organized and able to identify best practices to aid in the efficiencies of the department
