Laboratory Director opening – TN

We are working with a large hospital located in Southern TN, about 45 mins from Fayetteville, who has a need for a Laboratory Director join their team.

Position is responsible for all management functions of the laboratory including administrative, technical, clerical and personnel aspects. Establishes standards of practice and performance and installs methods to monitor their achievement.


Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred, must be ASCP, NCA or equivalent to CLIA 1988 personnel standards.
License: Must be licensed in Tennessee as a Lab Supervisor and a Medical Technologist.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of healthcare management experience.
Skills/Credentials: Must have understanding of patient care process, Joint Commission, CAP and PI processes. Must be willing to communicate effectively with patients, guests, visitors, family, physicians and hospital personnel.

There are 27 FTEs in the Lab. Will be overseeing 2 Lab Sites (main hospital that includes Micro as well as a Satellite lab). Their LIS system is Meditech. The current Lab Director is stepping down, nearing retirement.

About the area: They are centrally nestled between Nashville (1.5hr N), Chattanooga (1hr E), and Huntsville, AL (1hr S). 3hrs West of the Smoky Mountains and 3 hrs NW of Atlanta. They have mountains and lakes right in their back yard.
