This is a unique opportunity to shape philanthropic impact at scale — advancing compassionate, high-quality healthcare for vulnerable populations while partnering closely with executive leadership.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Philanthropy Officer, the Director of Planned Giving will provide strategic and operational leadership for a sophisticated planned giving program. This leader will manage all aspects of estate and life-income gifts, cultivate high-capacity donors, and ensure compliance with applicable legal and tax regulations related to charitable giving.

This role blends strategy, relationship management, technical expertise, and mission-driven leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive planned giving strategy with measurable short- and long-term goals
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major and planned gift prospects
  • Design individualized solicitation strategies for high-capacity donors
  • Provide guidance on bequests, life-income gifts, and other estate planning vehicles in collaboration with donor advisors
  • Draft and review gift illustrations and legal documentation
  • Track estate gifts from probate to completion and ensure audit integrity
  • Partner cross-functionally with Foundation and leadership teams
  • Educate and engage attorneys, estate planners, financial advisors, and community stakeholders
  • Lead recognition society efforts and planned giving communications
  • Mitigate legal and reputational risk through strong governance and systems

Ideal Background

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (JD, Accounting, Financial Planning) strongly preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in planned giving within a large nonprofit environment
  • Demonstrated success closing major and estate gifts
  • Deep knowledge of taxation, trusts and estates, probate, real estate, and charitable gift structures
  • Leadership experience in complex, matrixed organizations
  • CFRE and/or CSPG preferred

Why This Role Matters

Planned giving plays a critical role in sustaining long-term mission impact. This is an opportunity to build meaningful donor relationships, steward transformational gifts, and ensure future generations have access to compassionate care.

If you are a strategic philanthropic leader ready to make a lasting difference, we welcome the opportunity to connect.
