250+ bed acute care hospital in Northern Alabama looking for a Director of Materials Management to join their team. Position reports to CFO. 13+ direct reports to position. Competitive salary range and relocation provided with company wide advancement opportunities. 

Overview: Hospital has an open heart surgery site, a complete line of women’s and children’s services and a complete line of medical and imaging services. Hospital is a Certified Chest Pain center and recognized as a Primary Stroke Center of Excellence by the American Heart/American Stroke Association. Their 24-hour emergency department serves as the primary referral center for major trauma cases in Northwest Alabama.

Position Summary:

Directs the department’s activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives. Responsibilities include:

    *  Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization

    *  Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.

    *  Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.

    *  Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.

    *  Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.

    *  Perform other duties as assigned.

    *  Additional Information: Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred. Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education.
