NICU RN Manager job opening located in the Los Angeles area of Southern California.

We are helping a hospital who is looking for a Nursing Department Manager RN, NICU Evening shift in Los Angeles County market.

This position will manage a 49 bed NICU. This is a Magnet recognized hospital with CCS designation.

Work hours are approximately 12pm – 8:30pm.
Job Overview:
Manages the delivery of nursing services and safe patient care within assigned department and across the continuum of care. Manages the delivery of services that add value and are integrated with nursing standards of practice, service priorities and performance/outcome measures, as well as with strategic, business, and organizational goals/objectives.

 Required (non-negotiable):

• CA RN license.

• American Heart Association BLS.

• NRP.

• RNC-NIC

• BSN or MSN.

• At minimum candidate needs to have 5 years of FT equivalent NICU. At least 3 of these years need to be in a community hospital level III NICU to meet CCS requirement.

 Experience must be current or very recent. • At minimum candidate needs to have 3 years of FT equivalent NICU Manager or Supervisor experience. Charge Nurse experience doesn’t meet this requirement (also referred to as Clinical Coordinator). Experience must be current or very recent.

Job description: Level III: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Develops and participates in process improvement projects such as the NI Trainer training, Arctic Sun training, and Hand Hygiene rounds.
• Supervises, assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates all aspects of patient care in the NICU, PICU and Pediatrics.
• Provides leadership and guidance to optimize teamwork
• Proficient in applying knowledge of various programs such as KP Rounding, API,
EPIC, and ATM
• Interviews and assesses new hires for permanent and traveling positions
• Staffs according to staffing matrix and skill mix for optimal safety and quality
outcomes
• Collaborates with management team to smoothly and efficiently manage more
than 160 employees
