Job Description:
Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring infection control policies and procedures, educating healthcare staff, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Collaborates with the medical officer to implement and oversee facility wide infection control and employee health programs. Provides pre-employment screenings, immunizations and work-related exposures, illnesses and injuries.
We prefer an RN but will consider LPN. A cert from the National Board of Infection Control is also preferred.
Some duties may include:
- Conduct routine risk assessments to identify areas of potential infection transmission.
- Monitor and analyze infection control data to identify trends and outbreaks. Maintain accurate records of infection rates and provide regular reports to senior leadership.
- Provide education and training to healthcare staff on infection prevention and control practices. Develop educational materials and conduct training sessions on topics such as hand hygiene and isolation protocols.
- Manage nursing budget, expenses, and resources effectively, optimizing cost-efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Promote evidence-based infection control practice and continuous learning among nursing staff.
- Investigate and manage infection outbreaks, including implementing control measures.
- Ensure all staff members are up to date with infection control best practices and guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to promote a culture of safety and infection prevention. Serve as a resource and consultant to healthcare staff on infection control issues.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff regarding infection control measures and protocols.
Situated on the Yellowstone River, this town is the center of trade for the area. Oil and agriculture are the main industries, and crops include grains, sugar beets, corn, beans and hay. The area offers excellent fishing for many warm-water species, including the huge prehistoric paddlefish. You can also hunt for agates along Yellowstone, or hunt big game, waterfowl and upland birds. Straddling the North Dakota-Montana border nearby is the Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site.
