Director of the Emergency Services Department job opening located in San Antonio, Texas.

300-400 hospital beds, 13 ER beds-45-50 patients a day. Level 4 trauma.

The role of the Director of the Emergency Services Department assures service, growth, development, personnel management, and resource allocation and management controls in order to ensure consistent high-quality patient care- in the Emergency Department. 

Will look at strong managers operating a lot like a director. Need to have ED director manager experience (and preferably behavioral health experience as hospital closed that had 54 behavioral beds and get a lot of BH patients). Current vacancy – 50% – thru system resource and agency staff; has hired new grads who started. Have 2 CNCs now; 1 day and 1 night. # FTEs: should be 42 people; have 21 currently. RNs, LVNs, PCPs; almost all RNs filled. Physician engagement: pretty good- have Medical Director super engaged and works well with BH patients; getting his team /follow protocols; Patient Experience: low – around 64th% higher than been; RN-BSN, prior ER experience as Manager or Director 3-5 years.
