Scope: Cardiac Cath (interventional), Cardiac Rehab, PICC. 30–35 interventional cath procedures/month. 1 physician, 5–6 staff.
Location: New Mexico
Requirements: RN required, BSN preferred. 3–5 years technical experience in cardiac cath, 2 years in leadership. ICU and/or Cardiopulmonary experience a plus.
Role: Biggest components of the role are staff training and development, quality, and program development. Cardiac rehab will be introduced next month, PICC is rolling out in October. Director may need to function clinically 10%–20% ( ~ 6 shifts/month, which includes some call).
General: Physician partner is a hard-working interventional (and general) cardiologist. She is employed by the hospital. She wants a Director partner who is detail-oriented, experienced, a grounded communicator (straight-shooter, inclined to facts/figures), operates from a project-management perspective, works well administratively, can train/educate. I would describe this physician as committed and passionate (subdued…her passion is in her actions and commitment; she’s a very hard worker.) She is very bullish on education. She is looking for a Director who can help build the CV Service Line. I believe a Director in this role will find an excellent partner in this physician. The hospital is fully supportive of her and growing the service line.
Community: Growing tourist community. Economically sound. Rural (35,000–50,000 population). Warm and welcoming community.
