CNS – Clinical Nurse Specialist – Acute Care Adult Population
Bay Area Magnet Recognized, 2 hospital campuses with speciality and primary care clinics. Not-for-profit. Position is a Clinical Practice Manager who manages the clinical and educational resources and care standards for a specific patient population. CNS Manager is a member of the Chief Nursing Officer’s leadership team and a member of the Advanced Practice Nurses Group. This Manager participates in the development of evidence based care delivery systems and clinical practice programs. The Manager’s role, along with other members of the management team, is to promote the provision of effective, high quality patient care to all patients. Master’s degree in Nursing required. MSN major in clinical nurse specialist, clinical nurse leader, education or related health care field. Current California RN license required Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification required. Four years of RN clinical experience in specific department required. Three to five years of education or clinical specialist experience with increasing scope of responsibility preferred.

The Director will leads together with the Medical Director, the Institute Leadership Team and medical staff to assure the organization a long-term position of strength and prominence in the region’s healthcare marketplace.
Responsible for a range of activities to include business planning, community and marketing events and activities, product/service line development, physician relations and practice/business development.
Minimum Required: Seven years of experience in a management/leadership position with experience in strategic planning, marketing, market research and community/business development activities in support of a large, managed care oriented, complex healthcare organization. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Management or related field. A clinical degree is acceptable with appropriate experience in marketing and/or business development. Masters preferred. Ability to set goals and judge results in accordance with the highest standards; care with sensitivity and respect; advance care through development of new ideas and technology; promote teamwork to achieve hospital’s mission; and understand and exceed customer expectations. Advanced computer skills – Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access). Exceptional facilitation and consensus-building skills. Strong management skills. Able to define overall goals, provide relevant information.

Qualifications Required:
