The Nurse Educator for the CCA (ICU/IMC), Observation, and ED units is responsible:

Daily rounding on units

General departmental activity support, i.e. monthly orientation
-
Education, skill assessment, coaching, assessment/evaluation and counseling of care team, members during orientation and throughout employment (Collaborates with Nurse Managers i.e., remedial action plans, etc.

Development and implementation of educational programs to meet clinical needs
-
Oversight of preceptor new employee dyad during on boarding
-
Unit resource on processes, procedures and products
-
Annual general and specialty competencies
-
Active committee member on Critical Care, Sepsis, Stroke, Alarm Management, Moderate Sedation and Practice Councils
-
Partnering with other entities to develop innovative strategies for education
Qualifications include:
-
BSN, Master’s preferred. If BSN, must obtain MSN within 2.5 years of hire

Specialty Certification in focus area
-
3+ years of bedside nursing in Critical Care and/or ED, including oversight of newly hired staff and training of existing employees or newly graduated nurses
-
Member of specialty professional organization
This is a part-time position, may be full-time for the right candidate.
