Clinical Practice Specialist CC/ED job, MD

Solid opportunity to have an impact on Patient Care in a 200+ bed hospital working with a close knit group of Surgeons and Clinical staff.

The Nurse Educator for the CCA (ICU/IMC), Observation, and ED units is responsible:

• Daily rounding on units
• General departmental activity support, i.e. monthly orientation
• Education, skill assessment, coaching, assessment/evaluation and counseling of care team, members during orientation and throughout employment (Collaborates with Nurse Managers i.e., remedial action plans, etc.
• Development and implementation of educational programs to meet clinical needs
• Oversight of preceptor new employee dyad during on boarding
• Unit resource on processes, procedures and products
• Annual general and specialty competencies
• Active committee member on Critical Care, Sepsis, Stroke, Alarm Management, Moderate Sedation and Practice Councils
• Partnering with other entities to develop innovative strategies for education

Qualifications include:

• BSN, Master’s preferred. If BSN, must obtain MSN within 2.5 years of hire
• Specialty Certification in focus area
• 3+ years of bedside nursing in Critical Care and/or ED, including oversight of newly hired staff and training of existing employees or newly graduated nurses
• Member of specialty professional organization

This is a part-time position, may be full-time for the right candidate.
