| Seeking a NP Hospitalist for one of the largest, most comprehensive and most highly respected providers of health-related services to the people of a large Metropolitan area. Their system advocates acute care and preventive services, wellness and fitness services, and educational programs.
Located in the Mid Atlantic our location can offer a variety of options for living, from City to Rural. The area is very accessible to all needed services, historical and cultural offerings.
Responsibilities include:

Under limited supervision, the NP Hospitalist performs comprehensive medical and nursing evaluation to diagnose and treat patients

Functions as an Advanced Practice Nurse

Documents all patient encounters appropriately and accurately after performing an accurate and comprehensive history and physical appropriate to the patient problem

Identifies abnormal findings on physical assessment and diagnostic tests
-
Provides orders for medical procedures and/or treatments in a timely manner to enhance the flow of patient care, including laboratory, cardiology, and radiology studies, as well as other indicated therapies in a cost effective manner

Prescribes drugs, including controlled substances, as appropriate

Performs delineated clinical procedures as needed for patient care

Refers patients to appropriate licensed physicians or other health care providers as necessary

Rounds on assigned Hospitalist and community physician patients

Provides patient care according to scheduled shifts to include nights, weekends, and holidays

Works in a variety of clinical settings within the inpatient, post-acute, and psychiatric units
Qualifications/Requirements include:

Seasoned professional knowledge; equivalent to a Master’s degree; knowledge in more than one discipline

1-3 years of experience

Master’s degree in an advanced practice nurse practitioner program with Acute Care Certification. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing attaining a BSN degree.
