The CQO reports to CEOs with dotted line to Corporate CQO; 100-300 bed hospitals in semi-rural locations; part of system; profit experience helpful; leadership in development and measurement of the hospital’s approach to quality/performance improvement (PI) and patient safety; BSN in progress (RN or clinical background); Master’s preferred; RN in state of hospital; CPHQ or CPPI; 5 years’ exp in management in hospital setting including clinical service lines with PI and Quality; development of a comprehensive quality and/or PI program, directs and coordinates quality and/or PI initiatives; participates in development, education, monitoring, reporting and improvement of activities related to hospital guidelines, National Patient Safety Goals, accreditation standards, etc; works external agencies and stakeholders related to quality/performance initiatives; oversees the investigation and reporting of events as required by regulatory agencies and serves as a liaison in PI efforts related to medical safety; collaborates to investigate care concerns; maintains performance improvement data that facilitates identification of trends and leads efforts to improve outcomes through proactive management of key outcomes metrics; salary $110-130s depending on market, experience, size of facility; bonus potential.
