Manager of Health Information Coder/Abstractor
Manages the daily operations of the Health Information Coder and Abstractor department. Ensures coding and abstracting of health records meet established standards of accuracy, timeliness and quality, and functions, services and activities of department are consistent with the goals and objectives the Medical Center. Certification as a RHIT, CCS or RHIA required. In-depth knowledge of ICD-9-CM, CPT4/HCPCS, DRG, and APC coding. Bachelor’s degree in medical records or health related field preferred. Three year of experience in ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding of inpatient and outpatient medical records. Prior recent supervisory/management experience. Familiarity with use of computerized medical records systems. Familiarity with spreadsheets and word processing programs.
Location: Hawaii
Relocation allowance plus temp housing provided for 30 days.
