Coding Manager
We are working with a reputable well-respected healthcare organization in the Hawaii market looking for a Coding Manager to join their team.
This is a key position in the Coding department; the Manager will not only manage but audits and teaches the existing coders. Hospital Coding Inpatient experience is a must! Ideally someone who has worked in a minimum 200 bed acute care hospital.
19 FTE’s reporting to position.
Responsibilities:
Manages the daily operations of the Health Information Coder and Abstractor department. Ensures coding and abstracting of health records meet established standards of accuracy, timeliness and quality, and functions, services and activities of department are consistent with the goals and objectives of the Medical Center.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification and Licensure:
1.Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required.
2.In-depth knowledge of ICD-9-CM, CPT4/HCPCS, DRG, and APC coding.
3.Bachelor’s degree in medical records or health related field.
Experience:
1.Three year of experience in ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding of inpatient and outpatient medical records.
2.Prior recent supervisory/management experience.
3.Familiarity with use of computerized medical records systems.
4.Familiarity with spreadsheets and word processing programs.
Salary range – 70k-100k plus relocation assistance
