Assistant Adolescent Psych Nurse Manager:

RN, BSN, 5+years in psych management.

5-bed acute closed inpatient psychiatric unit for adult and pediatric patients. Patients are most often admitted to this unit after a brief medical/psychiatric screening in the Emergency room. They are at moderate- to- high risk for assault, suicide, self-harm or elopements and require a high degree of staff interaction. They may have acute medical symptoms that may occur within 24 hrs of admission and require further screening or transfer to an acute medical unit. Common diagnoses are substance-induced mood or thought disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, dual diagnosis, depression, conduct disorder, ODD, ADHD, PTSD, etc.

RN Requirements
RN licensure
Current BLS/HCP Certification
ACLS/PALS Certification by the end of probationary period or 3 months of transfer date
ANCC certification in psychiatric nursing; for experienced RNs, certification must be obtained within one year of hire; for new grads and non-psychiatric RNs, certification must be obtained within two years
At least 1 year RN inpatient adult psychiatric experience preferred

120k-130k salary range.
